Byticles (Feb 2024 - Mar 2024)

Byticles is a social-educational digital platform concept inspired by certain social media conversations in late 2023/early 2024 surrounding Generation Alpha's literacy development. I conceptualized Byticles ('bite-sized articles') as a transformation of existing and a fostering of new long-form educational content, such as plays, journals, and manifestos, as bite-sized forms.

For my INFO 110 (Intro to Human-Computer Interaction) course, I was tasked in both individual and group environments to evaluate and critique a user interface of my group's choice. We chose to critique AliExpress, a popular online shopping platform. After evaluating the AliExpress mobile app individually, our group came together to redesign the app's homepage for a better user experience.

Dis/Course (Nov 2023 - Dec 2023)

For my ENGL T380 (Intro to Digital Humanities) final project, I proposed and designed Dis/Course, a web-based platform that would utilize the data visualization methods we discussed in class to explore disability's characterizations in higher education curriculums.

Experience

Drexel Writing Center, Peer Reader (Apr 2023 - Mar 2024)

As a Peer Reader, I worked closely with students on writing assignments for their courses, as well as resumes, applications, and a wide range of written content. My goal was to help students clarify and strengthen their writing for particular audiences and contexts, empowering them to become more confident writers. Maya Literary Magazine, Staff Member (June 2022 - June 2024), Event Coordinator (Sept 2023 - June 2024)

My role as a staff member during the 2022-23 school year involved reading and voting on student submissions, including poetry, fiction and non-fiction writing, art, and photography, to select which pieces would be published in the 2023 edition of Maya. I also assisted with copyediting accepted submissions.

As Event Coordinator for the 2023-24 school year, I worked with my fellow officers to reorganize our staff in ways that would foster a more conductive environment and revitalize the publication. Unfortunately, due to outside commitments and issues with the organization predating our active participation, we were ultimately forced to retire Maya.
