Beckett Schneider

current copywriter,
aspiring UX designer, artist, etc.

Beckett (Beck) Schneider (he/him) is a multifaceted designer based in Philadelphia, PA. Originally from the suburbs of Philly, he is currently a third-year student in Drexel University's Custom-Designed Major program.

A former biomedical engineering and English major, Schneider's current program in Humanistic Communication and Interaction Design brings together communications, user experience and interaction design (UXID), and healthcare administration to leverage digital communication methods for designing web-based products that challenge society’s medicalization of the human experience.

Initially a writer by trade, Schneider is currently working as a Communications Assistant at Drexel's College of Engineering for his second co-op. He aspires to transfer the skillset he's gained from communications to UI/UX design, speaking to his clients' visions through his developing knowledge of design principles and computing. Schneider aspires to become a UX designer in the healthcare sector and improve user experiences for medical personnel and patients alike.

Schneider's path is greatly informed by his experiences as an autistic person. He is proudly disabled, trans, aromantic, asexual, and gay, and he hopes these experiences, in addition to his diverse educational background, will guide his design decisions and allow him to treat the users he designs for as human beings with their own real-life experiences.

In addition to Drexel students, TRIPOD includes alumni, students from Paul Robeson High School, and local community members.

Maya Literary Magazine, Staff Member (Jun 2022 - present), Event Coordinator (Sept 2023 - present)

My role as a staff member during the 2022-23 school year involved reading and voting on student submissions, including poetry, fiction and non-fiction writing, art, and photography, to select which pieces would be published in the 2023 edition of Maya. I also assisted with copyediting accepted submissions.

As the Event Coordinator for the 2023-24 school year, I'm working with my fellow officers to reorganize our staff in ways that will foster a more conductive environment following issues with communication and passive participation. We are hoping to relaunch the magazine in 2025.
